Hoka One One Challenger 7/BBSBL/ 1134498

Key Specifications:

Released as part of the reimagined Challenger line, this model is lighter and more cushioned than its predecessors, making it ideal for daily mixed-surface runs.

Design Highlights:

All-Terrain Hybrid Outsole: Inspired by gravel tyres, the  durabrasion rubber outsole features 4mm lugs that are smaller and tightly spaced in the centre for road smoothness, and larger on the perimeter for improved trail traction.

Enhanced Cushioning: Built with a new, compression-moulded EVA (CMEVA) foam midsole that is lighter and softer than version 6, providing a plush, protective underfoot feel.

Engineered Mesh Upper: A simplified, dual-layer mesh made from recycled yarns offers improved durability and a snug, supportive fit.

Early Stage Meta-Rocker: This shaped underfoot geometry promotes a smooth, efficient transition from impact to toe-off, encouraging a faster cadence.

Extended Heel Pull: Designed for easy entry and to reduce pressure on the Achilles tendon.

Official Colorway: Bellwether Blue / Stone Blue

Weight: Approx. 218g (W) / 252g (M)

Heel-to-Toe Drop: 5mm (31mm heel / 26mm forefoot)

Fit: Regular fit; some users note it runs slightly narrow in the toebox

Sustainability: Vegan construction; recycled polyester upper and laces

Usage:

Versatility: Frequently described as a "superb cruiser" for mixed terrain, recommended for beginners who want one shoe for both pavements and light dirt tracks.

Cushioning Profile: Reviewers  measured the midsole to be 46% softer than the typical trail shoe, though it lacks high energy return for top-speed racing.

Breathability: While comfortable and durable, the multi-layered mesh is noted for limited airflow, making it better suited for cooler conditions or transitional seasons.
